Bí mật về cái... váy của đàn ông Ấn Độ

Tính kiên cường và tự tin của đàn ông Ấn Độ thể hiện rất rõ trong hình dáng và màu sắc của những chiếc mũ và váy xếp tầng.

Người Hindu thường nói: “Hãy ăn tùy theo sở thích, nhưng hãy mặc theo phong tục”. Vành mũ và chiếc váy của luôn là trang phục truyền thống mê hoặc đàn ông Ấn Độ qua nhiều thế hệ. Và ẩn chứa trong những trang phục ấy là những bí mật chưa được khám phá.

Tính cách kiên cường và đầy tự tin của đàn ông Ấn Độ được thể hiện rất rõ trong hình dáng và màu sắc rực rỡ của những chiếc mũ và váy xếp tầng. Với bàn tay khéo léo như có ma thuật của mình, đàn ông Ấn Độ đã thổi hồn vào những mảnh khăn và thắt gọn trên đầu hay giữa eo, tạo thành những vành mũ, những chiếc váy đủ hình dáng, muôn sắc màu và chứa đựng nhiều bí ẩn về tính cách cũng như nét đẹp tôn giáo của con người nơi đây.

Những chiếc mũ rực rỡ đã trở thành hình ảnh quen thuộc của đất nước Ấn Độ.

Nếu phụ nữ Ấn Độ được biết đến với những trang phục sari, salwar-kameez và ghaghra cholis, thì với nam giới, dhoti luôn là bộ trang phục quen thuộc. Với một tấm vải trắng có độ dài từ đến bốn mét, đàn ông Ấn sẽ quấn quanh phần eo và để độ dài xuống đầu gối, thậm chí là tới gót chân. Màu trắng luôn là lựa chọn hàng đầu cho những chiếc "váy đụp" của các đấng mày râu tại đất nước này.
Những chiếc váy được quấn chặt từ phần eo xuống đầu gối hoặc gót chân từ mảnh vải trắng là trang phục truyền thống phổ biến dành cho nam giới tại mọi vùng miền.

Khác với sắc màu giản dị của những chiếc váy, tấm vải dùng làm mũ luôn rực rỡ sắc màu với độ dài tới vài mét. Tùy vào cách quấn khăn, bạn có thể phần nào hiểu được tôn giáo và vùng miền của người đàn ông đó. Nếu trong thế giới tự nhiên, con đực thường ưa thích những màu sắc rực rỡ, thì người đàn ông Ấn Độ cũng thể hiện chất nam tính thông qua việc lựa chọn những mảnh vải “’trăm tía ngàn hồng” làm mũ.
Để quấn được chiếc mũ siêu khủng này, chắc hẳn ông ta phải mất nhiều công sức.

Trong đó, đàn ông xứ Rajasthan và Sikh có truyền thống đội những vành khăn rực rỡ sắc màu. Các tín đồ đạo Sikh thường có thói quen quấn khăn rất chặt. Riêng những tín đồ Hindu thì có cách xếp khăn khá linh hoạt, hoặc là quấn chặt gọn gàng, hoặc để buông lơi một phần vải.
Đàn ông theo đạo Hindu có cách xếp khăn khá linh hoạt, thậm chí để buông lơi một phần vải.

Nhiều khách du lịch tỏ ra thích thú khi chứng kiến những buổi hành lễ của tín đồ đạo Hindu. Bởi khi đó, họ sẽ trổ tài phù phép cho những mảnh vải bình dân thành các nếp mũ và chiếc váy với những hình dáng vô cùng độc đáo. Gương mặt người đàn ông Ấn Độ luôn bừng sáng và ngập tràn nụ cười khi thổi hồn cho những mảnh vải.

Ấn Độ: Bi kịch thiếu của hồi môn - cô dâu bị chồng thiêu sống

Trái ngược với phong tục tại một số quốc gia khác, của hồi môn mà gia đình cô dâu phải đưa tới gia đình chú rể là một thực trạng xã hội đã tồn tại khá lâu ở Ấn Độ. Chú rể thường yêu cầu của hồi môn trong đó bao gồm một khoản tiền lớn, các vật nuôi, đồ nội thất, và các thiết bị điện tử, dẫn tới một thực tế ngày càng nhiều cô gái ở Ấn Độ khó lấy chồng. Đây được xem là vấn đề nghiêm trọng nhất đối với những cô gái không có hoặc không đáp ứng đủ yêu cầu của vị hôn phu hoặc nhà trai của họ.

Nếu bạn nghĩ nguy cơ bị hủy hôn là nỗi lo ngại cao nhất, thì bạn đã nhầm. Thực tế tàn khốc hơn gấp bội. Hầu hết các sự cố mà cô dâu gặp phải nếu không đáp ứng đủ yêu cầu về của hồi môn của nhà trai thường được báo cáo là bị bỏng ở trong bếp hoặc được ngụy trang thành một vụ tự tử. Đây là một bằng chứng cho thấy có sự tồn tại của các định kiến có nguồn gốc sâu xa đối với phụ nữ Ấn Độ.

Mặc dù đã bị cấm theo luật pháp từ năm 1961, nhưng việc “đào mỏ” của hồi môn từ gia đình cô dâu trước khi kết hôn vẫn thường xảy ra. Khi số lượng của hồi môn không đủ theo yêu cầu, cô dâu thường bị quấy rối, bị lạm dụng và phải sống rất khổ sở. Việc hành hạ cô dâu có thể lên tới đỉnh điểm khi người chồng tương lai hoặc gia đình nhà chồng thiêu sống cô dâu. Thường thì họ dùng dầu hỏa đổ lên khắp người cô gái rồi bật lửa thiêu cháy. Và trong những trường hợp như vậy, hiếm cô dâu nào có thể sống sót được.


Ngày càng có nhiều tân nương bị sát hại, tuy nhiên, các báo cáo cho thấy họ gặp tai nạn hoặc tự tử.

Trên thực tế, số lượng các vụ giết người vì thiếu của hồi môn ngày càng tăng lên. Vào năm 1988, có khoảng 2.209 phụ nữ bị giết chết trong những vụ thảm sát có liên quan tới của hồi môn và con số ấy vào năm 1990 là 4.835. Lưu ý rằng, đây mới chỉ là những vụ việc chính thức được gia đình nạn nhân báo cáo rằng đó là một vụ giết người, còn những cái chết thảm không được báo cáo hoặc báo cáo như một rủi ro thông thường khác chưa hề có số liệu thống kê.

Tuy nhiên, giới chức địa phương hiếm khi xác nhận những vụ việc như vậy xảy ra, bởi vì “hung thủ” thường lấp liếm báo cáo lên rằng đó là một vụ tai nạn hoặc một vụ tự tử mà thôi. Ở Delhi, gần như cứ 12 giờ lại có một phụ nữ bị thiêu chết.

Một thực tế đáng buồn là tại Delhi, có tới 90% các trường hợp phụ nữ bị thiêu sống tới chết được báo cáo là gặp tai nạn, 5% được báo cáo là tự tử và chỉ có 5% còn lại được xem là một vụ giết người.

Tỷ lệ phụ nữ bị thiêu sống vì của hồi môn đang ngày càng tăng lên.

Theo thống kê của chính phủ, có tổng cộng 5.377 ca tử vong trong năm 1993 và con số này tăng 12% so với năm 1992. Mặc dù luật pháp ở Ấn Độ trừng phạt rất nghiêm khắc những kẻ giết người vì của hồi môn, tuy nhiên, hiếm khi có người bị kết án do thẩm phán (thường là nam giới) thường không quan tâm tới vụ việc hoặc dễ bị hối lộ.

Hiện tại, tỷ lệ phụ nữ đã có chồng bị sát hại do của hồi môn ở các huyện Hamirpur, Mandi và Bilaspur của tỉnh Himachal Pradesh đang ở trong tình trạng báo động.
